Day 25 - Periods 1, 2, 4, & 5 Monday 9/23 And Period 4 Tuesday 9/24



CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.5 Develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose and audience. (Editing for conventions should demonstrate command of Language standards 1–3 up to and including grades 9–10 here.

Objective: Self-correct writing mistakes because we learn when we correct our own mistakes.


  1. SSR for 10 minutes while I pass back essays/answer individual questions
  2. Collect Spirals: Give 2 post-its. Put one on Elements of Argument & one on SSR log
Monday - Period 1

  1. Embedded assessment #1 - Return graded narratives.  Pass out "Ninth grade Common Errors"
  2. Students complete Independent Correction Sheet to self-edit (will take about 30 minutes)
  3. If you have a question, first ask  your partner to help you figure it out.
  4. SSR when you are finished. Differentiation = we work at different paces and should be allowed to.
