Day 4 -


CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.9-10.10 By the end of grade 9, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, in the grades 9-10 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.


  1. SSR 12 minutes & Prompt 5 minutes

  2. Intro to R & J - Circle Map: What do you know about Shakespeare & Romeo and Juliet and how do you know it. Each student gets 2 different colored post-its upon entering the class. Use white board.
  3. Why read R & J?
  4. Who's who in Romeo & Juliet?
  5. Use Act 1 vocabulary Quizlet to write a prediction about what Act 1 might be about. Use a minimum of 5 vocab words in your response.
