Day 57: Periods 1, 2, 5, & 6 Monday 12/13 AND Period 4 Tuesday, 12/14

Writing Day #2! Your essay will be due at the end of class. Save time for proofreading; I don't want to read your throw up.

To Do:

1. Make sure you have a concluding statement for each of your 4 techniques. Your statement for your last technique could be your conclusion for your whole essay.

2. Highlight the name of each technique you used in your essay.

3. Change all you to the viewer or the audience.

4. Use the notes from the last class as your editing checklist:

• No "It." Avoid vague pronouns: he, she, it, they, you, him, her
• No vague statements: Explain with details & examples.
• Use an apostrophe to show possession.
• Use your terms from pages 134-136 and page 142.
• No random capital letters.
• When beginning a sentence with an subordinating conjunction, you will need a comma after the dependent clause - just as I did.

5. Cross out any "a lot" or "a lot of" or "alot."

6. Put a star next to the paragraph with your best writing of a technique.








7. Use conjunctive adverbs for transitions. You will have an independent clause on this side; likewise, you will have a stand alone sentence on this side.
